The Diverse Empowerment Foundation (DEF) is proud to be part of the Women of Faith in Action (W-O-F-A) Campaign. Over the past weeks, this campaign has brought together faith leaders, survivors, and advocates to challenge harmful narratives and to reclaim faith as a force for healing, dignity, and justice.
Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) continues to affect countless lives, with diverse women facing heightened risks due to stigma and discrimination. Too often, faith has been misused to justify silence or exclusion. W-O-F-A seeks to change that story.
Through survivor-centered advocacy, inclusive dialogue, and the amplification of diverse voices, the campaign demonstrates that faith can be a source of courage, solidarity, and transformation.
At DEF, our work in disability justice and feminist inclusion aligns deeply with the vision of W-O-F-A. By amplifying this campaign, we affirm that ending gender-based violence is not only urgent but possible when communities act together with compassion and accountability.
We believe that faith, when grounded in love and justice, has the power to uplift, protect, and restore.
We invite our networks, partners, and allies to follow W-O-F-A online, share its messages, and stand in solidarity with survivors. Together, we can ensure that faith is used as a wellspring of justice and a beacon of hope for all.
Your money goes toward actual change. Think research that shifts narratives, advocacy that opens doors, and programs that transform lives in Uganda and beyond. Plus, you’ll sleep better knowing you’re backing disability-led organizers to make policy work accessible.
